Gululu has recently won’t the best Maltese restaurant award for the continuous second year. It is undoubtedly the best place serving best of experience to both locals and visitors. The restaurant is situated in the Spinola Bay. The retro adverts add to the decoration of the brightly lit walls with shabby chic furnishings and graphic floor tiles. A huge veranda is set at the upper level where you can watch Maltese fishing boats through the rear entrance. Staff is always keen to help you out with the dish choices. Furthermore, the images of St. Julian’s feast’s greasy pole contest add an element of entertainment to the entire décor.

The popular made-in-house meatballs are the speciality of Gululu. Try the entirely Maltese cuisine with starters like galletti (water crackers) and crusty loaves, sundried tomato, ricotta, anchovy and bigilla (bean) dips. Feast on grilled pork sausage and try out the slenderness of strong flavours of octopus in a thick stew, served with fennel potatoes and a variety of grilled vegetables.
End up your meal while liking your lips with sweetness of mini-cannolli, sweet rikotta trifle and deep fried imqaret (date biscuits).
The wine list offers strong blends from acclaimed producers.
Gululu has certainly managed to make a reputation in the market amongst patrons seeking for authentic dinner getaways.
